Orange Arrpw Academic Institute for Educators of Adults


The Academic Institute for Educators of Adults (AIEA) offers continuing education to educators of adults (for background information, read an introduction to adult education by Alexander Charters). The AIEA is comprised of six major components:

  1. Links to adult education resources.
    Syracuse University E.S. Bird Library
    Subject Index of Adult Education manuscripts and archival collections.
    The Charters Library for Educators of Adults
    An international library and information resource network for educators of adults
    AIEA Resources
    A list of relevant and helpful documents available in pdf.
    Syracuse University Publications for Continuing Education
    A publications program with a focus on national and international issues.

  2. Links to relevant degree and non-degree programs for Syracuse University students.
  3. Liinks to adult education journals and organizations.
  4. Links to Global Issues Forums

    Cross-disciplinary discussions about issues that affect educators of adults internationally. Proceedings from Global Issues Forum II: International Migration and Integration are currently available here (pdf).

  5. A series of professional development courses, workshops and services.

  6. A research and dissemination capacity for enhancing the knowledge and practice of educators of adults.
