Humanistic Studies offers a variety of interesting, enlightening, and
entertaining non-credit courses, lectures, and weekend programs to the
community.
Institute for Retired Professionals
(IRP)
IRP provides opportunities for retired professionals to stay intellectually
active, expand interests, and make new acquaintances through meetings
featuring guest speakers.
Onondaga Citizens
League (OCL)
The Onondaga Citizens League fosters informed public discourse by identifying
and studying critical community issues affecting Central New York, developing
recommendations for action, and communicating study findings to interested
and affected groups.
Thursday Morning Roundtable (TMR)
TMR is a weekly civic forum bringing together a mix of community leaders
and experts from a variety of fields to learn about public issues and
problems.
Citizens Academy
The Citizens Academy, sponsored by University College and F.O.C.U.S.
Greater Syracuse, offers residents
of Onondaga County the
opportunity to find out how local government works, how to join with government to effect change, and how to create the future of our community.
UC Seminar Series
UC offers a series of FREE informational seminars on a variety of topics. The seminars are usually held at University College, 700 University Avenue, Syracuse. Free parking is available in the University Avenue Garage, corner of University Avenue and East Adams Street.

Horizons
A week-long summer program for Onondaga County middle school students
designed to encourage interest in science, technology, and science-related
careers.
Intelligent Conversation Lecture Series
Experts from the faculties of Syracuse University and Le Moyne College engage in a series of discussions on a different public policy issue each fall and spring.
Shadow Day
Sponsored by University College, Seymour Magnet School, and La Lucha
(a Latino organization for SU students), Shadow Day brings 5th grade students
to campus for a day, where they experience college life firsthand by shadowing
an SU student.
Stone Canoe
A journal of arts and ideas showcasing the work of artists and writers having connections to Upstate New York, the Stone Canoe is published annually.
Women of the University Community
The Women of the University Community is an inclusive organization established
at Syracuse University that schedules special events during the school
year, sponsors auxiliary groups that meet regularly, and organizes projects
to raise funds for scholarships. |
