1) JOB POSTINGS
The Legal Studies Program at SU has an agreement
with the Onondaga County Bar Association (OCBA) to help employers
fill their paralegal job openings much quicker. Under this agreement,
any job opening coming in to either SU or OCBA will be posted
to our Listserv. The Listserv will reach OCBA members, SU paralegal
students, and SU paralegal graduates.
Employers are welcome and encouraged to post their
positions on our Listserv. We also post it in our office for
current students and graduates. If you would like us to post
an open position within your firm or company, please fax us
at (315) 443-4410 or e-mail us at bfhamm@uc.syr.edu.
Generally we look for the title of the position,
a brief description, area(s) of law, part or full time, and
experience. Please also include information of how prospective
employees should contact you (mailing address, fax or e-mail).
If you want to use our online form to submit a posting, click
here.
You can also reach the Onondaga Bar Association
by calling (315) 471-2667 or through their website at http://www.onbar.org.
2) EMPLOYER SURVEY
As an American Bar Association Approved ("ABA") Program,
we are required to survey employers annually in the legal community.
The purpose of this survey is to make our program responsive
to the needs of local employers, and to better prepare our graduates
for a career in the legal field.
You will find an
employer survey form with space for comments if you choose
to include them. We know you are busy and we have tried to make
completion as painless as possible. You will notice when you
go to the link that we do not ask for information on specific
graduates. Please answer the questions in general terms. The
data from this survey will be used in aggregate form only. Your
answers will remain confidential. Thank you for your time and
consideration, but most of all, thank you for employing Syracuse
University graduates.
3) INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
We offer employers the opportunity to sponsor internship programs
within their organizations for our Legal Studies Program students.
Click here for information on the internship
program and sponsorship responsibility and an application
form.
If you have any questions about these services
or the Legal Studies Program in general, please do not hesitate
to contact us via e-mail at bfhamm@uc.syr.edu
or by phone at (315) 443-3299.
