Syracuse University Continuing Education was launched as Evening Session in 1918 and founded as University College in 1946. Its purpose was and continues to be… to provide Syracuse University educational opportunities to nontraditional, part-time students.

Who We Are
We are an entry point for students, an innovator of programs, an integrator across campus disciplines, a builder of bridges to the community, a partner for businesses.

Degree Student Profile
The average University College student is 35 years old. The number of undergraduate and graduate students attending University College is equal. Females comprise two-thirds of our enrollment. The primary market area for University College students is Onondaga County, stretching northwest and southeast of the city of Syracuse. Distance education and workforce training collaborations bring University College programs to a global audience.

Our Goals
Academic: To provide challenging and accessible courses and programs to students attending Syracuse University part time.

Student Services: To provide access to Syracuse University's programs by offering high-quality service to support the needs of potential and current students.

Workforce: To create and provide evaluation, training, and educational programs and services to employees and businesses.

Community: To contribute the knowledge and resources of the University to the study and resolution of community issues.

Development: To establish and solidify an ever-expanding external funding base in support of University College initiatives.

Financial Aid: To make a Syracuse University degree an affordable reality for students seeking financial assistance.

Facilities and Operations: To provide a quality work and learning environment for all constituencies of University College.

Marketing: To serve multiple populations (inquiry through alumni) with high-quality communications that contribute to enrollment and reflect positively on UC's reputation.

Technology: To continuously evaluate and upgrade technology to support the teaching and learning goals of UC constituents.
