Master of Social Science Student Services

The extensive academic advising system at University College has much to do with the success and satisfaction of M.S.Sc. students. The staff is available to assist you with all aspects of the program: admissions, registration, bursar, academic advising, certification, and financial aid procedures.

M.S.Sc. students should contact the University College Student Administrative Services Office, 315-443-3263, for:

• general advising on returning to school
• admission details
• overview of M.S.Sc. graduate study and how the program works.

The Office of Financial Aid provides limited assistance for students enrolled in the M.S.Sc. program. Financial need (i.e., the difference between your cost of education and what you can reasonably contribute toward this cost) is the most important factor determining your eligibility for aid and the types of student loan programs available to you.

ISDP students find SU's Library to be an invaluable resource while on campus or off. Students may contact the Library from anywhere in the world through its web site (http://libwww.syr.edu) or send e-mail (isdp@library.syr.edu). Through the web site, students may search the Library's catalog, renew materials, request interlibrary loans, ask a reference question, suggest a new resource for the Library, or contact the M.S.Sc. reference librarian.

M.S.Sc. students have full access to the University's Center for Career Services, whose professional staff advises students on job search strategies, resume preparation, and interviewing techniques. A Career Resources Library has an extensive collection of publications and materials on career opportunities, employment leads, federal government internships, and employer literature. You are welcome to use any of these resources whenever you are on campus. In addition, the Maxwell School publishes a monthly job opportunities newsletter for their graduates.
