Federal Veteran's Administration Educational Benefits

Veteran's Rehabilitation Benefits (Chapter 31) recipients must work with their counselor and their bursar representative.

Tuition Assistance recipients must submit certification with registration to the Bursar and Registration Office at the time of registration.

Veteran's Administration Educational Benefit (Chapters 30, 1606, 1607), also called the "GI bill." Requests for part-time continuing education students will be certified by University College of Syracuse University. Complete and submit the VA Educational Benefits Request form (pdf file). Completed request forms may be submitted via e-mail to finaid@uc.syr.edu, or faxed to 315-443-6689. Request forms must be submitted each term the student wishes to be certified for the benefit.

Benefits for eligible recipients are approved by the Veteran's Administration and paid directly to the student. Therefore, tuition payment arrangements may not be made based on VA benefits. We are unable to estimate approvals or amounts. Veterans or eligible dependents may contact the VA directly at 1-888-GIBILL (1-888-442-4551) or via the internet at www.gibill.va.gov
